IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING BUSINESS HOURS:
In case of a true emergency please let the reception know the nature of the emergency and a brief history of what and how it happened. Our veterinarian will be interrupted from his/her appointment to take your call. All the efforts will be made to see your pet as a priority (an emergency fee will apply).
If the emergency would need to be referred to an emergency hospital, the emergency hospital will be contacted, driving direction will be given to you and a summary of the condition will be faxed to the emergency hospital with any test or blood results or x-rays done in our hospital. This will help the emergency hospital to start professional care of your pet as soon as they can.
FOR AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY PROCESS:
Emergencies that happen after business hours will be referred to the Toronto Veterinary Emergency Clinic South ( Open daily 24/7, weekends and holidays) located on 920 Yonge Street, (416) 920 – 2002 and identify yourself as a client of Market Lane Animal Hospital. Your pet will be taken care of and stabilized until we open. A report from the Emergency clinic will be forward with you or faxed to us to continue the supportive care and treatment if still needed.
